This would make an excellent shooter for someone that wanted a pre ban Chinese AK they aren’t afraid to go blasting with. The bore is great but the gun isn’t exactly NIB. Makes me wonder if a dealer swapped them out before it even sold? The gun shoots/cycles/functions flawlessly and has been shot plenty. Whats weird is the bolt carrier is blued like should be on this particular model…and is rare for other AKs to have. The BC and bolt match each other, and the rest of the gun is #s matching (including the dust cover and recoil spring), but to me its a big deal not to have those 2 original parts. However, the bolt carrier and bolt #s do NOT match the rest of the gun. Normally I would say a gun this nice would easy command $1,000 on gunbroker. no original box, sling, bayonet, or paperwork with it. Standard AK configuration 16” barrel, fixed stock, original cleaning rod. Has minor scratches on the wood but all could be refinished if they bugged someone. Bluing is 85-90% and the original wood furniture is in the same condition.
Other models from Sile use this extra '1' code to denote POST-ban status regardless of what the green-toothed lying gun dealer is trying to convince you of:).I have a Sile, NY imported AKM-47S in 7.62x39 that I plan on listing this weekend. The pre-bans have model names like 56s-1, while their post-ban models(specifically ones caught during law changes) are marked 1-56s-1 with the extra '1' before the original model name. One tricky example I can warn you of in advance is Sile Imports. What the others said, they are pretty much clearly marked if you do some research beforehand for what to avoid. Most likely that won't be happening.but I thought you were bringing up that concept again. This might answer your questions: What I did was take your question a step further, by pointing out that many Chinese AK's have the 'evidence' on the trunnion, not the receiver.
